Students Win First Place in Public Health Competition

Five Georgetown University students joined together to form the winning team in a regional public health competition. Team participants hail from business, medicine, public policy, and healthcare management majors and programs. Darshana Prakasam (McDonough School of Business), Chandani Desi (Georgetown College), Claire Lang (Georgetown College), Megan Prior (Medical School), and Suzanne Huszagh (School of Nursing and Public Health) came in first place with their proposal to reduce hate crimes against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth in the District. The Annual D.C. Regional Public Health Case Challenge competition was co-hosted by Georgetown University and the Institute of Medicine.
