February 21, 2013

Three Georgetown seniors were drafted to Major League Soccer (MLS), making Georgetown one of only two universities with the most seniors selected from one team. Georgetown McDonough's Tommy Muller was a No. 15 pick for the San Jose Earthquakes, and Ian Christianson was a No. 23 pick for the New York Red Bulls. Georgetown College's Jimmy Nealis was a No. 37 pick to the Houston Dynamo.

The Major League Soccer Superdraft was held in early January at the NSCAA Convention Centr in Indianapolis. A record three seniors were selected after having participated in the MLS Combine, tying with the University of Louisville for having the most players selected from one team in the country.
