February 12, 2013

A team of undergraduate students from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business won the first national Undergraduate Venture Capital Investment Competition (uVCIC), organized by UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.

The team of seniors Herbie Golstein, Erin Cawley, Tom Zorc, Elizabeth Schieffelin, and Jeff Stefanis were judged by a panel of venture capitalists. They were chosen based on their evaluation of two existing start-ups, including due diligence and negotiating terms of investment.

Other schools who participated include the University of Virginia, University of Michigan, UNC-Chapel Hill, and the University of Chicago.
