Observing a Class
To all campus visitors, prospective students and accompanying parents: The McDonough School of Business Undergraduate Program Office works together with faculty members to provide the opportunity of experiencing the academic environment in the McDonough School of Business here at Georgetown University. As such, professors in some Georgetown McDonough departments have graciously made their classes available to visiting students. Requests for class visits must be made at least a week in advance (7 days) of the respective visit to campus by emailing the Undergraduate Program Office at firstname.lastname@example.org with the date and time range of your visit.
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate class visit requests on a walk-in basis, nor can we guarantee specific courses to visit or specific times, and please keep in mind that course offerings on Fridays are limited. However, there may be more flexibility when visiting a Georgetown College (i.e. non-business) course. If you would like to visit a course taught in the College (e.g. Economics, Theology, History, etc.) please go to this link: http://uadmissions.georgetown.edu/visiting/campus/observing_classes/
All business classes are held in the Rafik B. Hariri building. Upon your arrival to campus, please stop by the Undergraduate Program Office in the Rafik B. Hariri Building, Suite 120 to fill out a prospective student information form. Once this is complete, please arrive in the classroom at least 10 minutes before the class is to begin. This allows you to make a proper introduction to the professor, who will let you know if it is not a good day for a visit (tests etc) as well as to make sure you get the most out of your class visit. Also, it is requested that students remain for a FULL class session of any class they wish to attend. This avoids unnecessary class disruption.
Please note that using any electronic device (computers, tablets, cell phones, etc) during the class period is prohibited. Use of these devices can be distracting to students and disruptive to the professors. Professors may ask you to step outside if this request is violated. We hope you understand our efforts to provide you with the best possible experience when visiting our university.
Please contact the Office of Learning and Disability Support Services at (202) 687-9530 to make special arrangements for the campus tour or information session.
