Bill Anderson is a senior managing director and global head of Evercore’s Activism/Raid Defense Business and Strategic Shareholder Advisory practice. Prior to Evercore, he led activism and raid defense at Goldman Sachs for over 10 years. He pioneered the practice of activism defense and advises companies worldwide in connection with mergers and acquisitions, special committee situations, corporate governance issues, cross-border transactions, contested shareholder situations and preparing for hostile activity. Previously, he was an attorney for Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, a certified public accountant for Coopers & Lybrand, and a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Anderson is a board member of several organizations, including the New York Alumni Council of Georgetown Law and Georgetown Wall Street Alliance. He graduated magna cum laude with a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and magna cum laude with a BSBA from the McDonough School of Business. He and wife, Kimberley (B’87), live in Scarsdale, New York, with their three sons.
