Board Member Dasha Smith
Dasha Smith is the Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer for the National Football League (NFL). In this role, Ms. Smith is a member of the executive operating committee and leads people operations and strategy (HR), diversity and inclusion, information technology, social responsibility and administration.
With experience working across multiple industries, Ms. Smith is an advisor to CEOs, executive teams, and boards of directors on business operations, organizational change, workplace culture, diversity, compensation and talent strategies. A modern leader, Ms. Smith is known for engaging and growing top talent and creating high performing, dynamic and diverse leadership teams.
Formerly, Ms. Smith served as the Executive Vice President, Global Chief Human Resources Officer for Sony Music Entertainment, a leading music, entertainment and technology company with operations in 60 countries. In this role, Ms. Smith was a member of the global leadership team and responsible for the Company’s global human resources strategies and operations.
Prior to joining Sony Music, Ms. Smith served as the Managing Director, Office of the Chairman and Global Chief Human Resources Officer for GCM Grosvenor, a leading global alternative investment firm with $57B+ AUM. At GCM Grosvenor, Ms. Smith was a member of a five-person executive management committee.
Ms. Smith also spent 10 years at Time Inc. (formerly a division of Warner Media), where she led the global employee relations and employment law departments and diversity initiatives. She also previously served as a senior attorney in the Time Inc. business and legal affairs department focusing on M&A.
Early in her career, Ms. Smith practiced as a corporate attorney at the law firms of Latham & Watkins, Covington & Burling and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
A native of Denver, Colorado, Ms. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia.
Ms. Smith serves on the Board of Directors for Cohen & Steers, Inc. (NYSE: CNS), a global investment manager specializing in liquid real assets. She also serves as an Independent Director for CapTrust, one of the largest independent retirement plan and investment advisory firms in the country. She serves on the University of Virginia Law School Foundation Board of Trustees and the Georgetown University Board of Regents. She is also a Trustee of the Dalton School, in New York City and a Board member of the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, TN.
