Doug Knopper has successfully led many media technology companies, most recently as Co-CEO of FreeWheel, the prominent provider of digital television advertising technology. Knopper co-founded FreeWheel in 2007, sold it to Comcast seven years later for $375 million, and spent exactly 3.5 years at Comcast post-acquisition.

Today, Knopper works as an advisor and board member to many companies, collaborating with CEOs, boards, management teams, and venture capital partners, to help them scale and out-perform.

Previous to FreeWheel, Knopper spent six years as general manager at DoubleClick in New York and London, and was part of the team responsible for its $1.1 billion sale. Knopper also served as CEO of Bitpass, a financial technology company sold to Digital River in 2007. Previously, Knopper held senior roles at advertising agencies and broadcasting companies, including Chiat/Day, Lowe, JWT, and Bonneville Broadcasting.

Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit, Knopper holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a B.A. with honors from the University of Michigan. He currently resides in Palo Alto, California, but will be on the Hilltop often visiting his son, who is expected to graduate from Georgetown McDonough in 2024.
