Jay Jacobs is a distinguished global fellow at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business. He will begin his three-year appointment with the Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy and the Global Social Enterprise Initiative in January 2018.
Jacobs ended his service as president and managing director of PIMCO, a global investment firm that manages more than $1.7 trillion in assets, in September 2017. He was promoted to managing director in 2006 and was elected by his fellow partners as the firm’s president in 2014. Over his 19 years at the firm, he held multiple senior management roles including serving as head of the firm’s Munich office and its German business and as a senior member of the European management team.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from Georgetown McDonough.
