Robert Steers is CEO of Cohen & Steers Inc., a leading global investment manager with a long history of innovation and focus on real assets, including real estate, infrastructure, commodities, and alternative income strategies. From 1984 to 1986, he was a senior vice president and chief investment officer of National Securities and Research Corporation, where he organized and launched the nation’s first real estate securities mutual fund in 1985.
Steers holds a B.S. from Georgetown University and an MBA from George Washington University. He also serves on the Investment Committee of the university’s Endowment Fund and chairs the Executive Committee of the Steers Center for Global Real Estate. He is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Staff Retirement Plan of the IMF. He is president of the Board of Trustees of the Canterbury School.
