    Come join us for the annual MSB Alumni Fall Happy Hour in New York City on October 20! We have an area reserved at the Ainsworth, 122 W 26th Street. Our group will be wrist-banded and have extended happy hour until 9 p.m. It will be a cash bar. Hope to see you all there!

  • Innovation in Emerging Markets w/Ricardo Ernst and Jerry Haar (Miami)

    You are invited to join Georgetown alumni for a discussion with professor Ricardo Ernst of Georgetown McDonough's Global Business Initiative and professor Jerry Haar for a discussion on their new book, Innovation in Emerging Markets. Innovation is sweeping the globe at breakneck speed, and tremendous growth and opportunities reside in emerging markets. Ernst and Haar will delve into the forces and drivers that will shape innovation in emerging markets, present several of case studies, and provide a summation of the key features and outlook for innovation over the next decade.

  • DC Hoyas' Fall Winery Tour (MD)

    Date: Saturday, October 22, 9:45 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    Location: The Vineyards at Dodon, Anne Arundel, MD (bus departure point: McDonough Gymnasium, Georgetown University, 9:45 a.m.)

    Join DC Hoyas for this special tour of a Maryland vineyard! This year, we will expand our horizons beyond the world of Virginia wineries with a visit the Vineyards at Dodon in Anne Arundel County, MD. After a bus trip from Georgetown University's main campus to the winery in Davidsonville, Dodon will provide a tasting of its wines, led by a dedicated wine educator, and we will then enjoy lunch before returning to campus. Additional wine will of course be available for purchase!

  • Second Annual Hariri Symposium (DC)

    Date: Tuesday, October 25, 5 - 6 p.m.

    Location: Lohrfink Auditorium, Rafik B. Hariri Building, Georgetown University

    Georgetown McDonough's Business, Society, and Public Policy Initiative is proud to present the second annual Hariri Symposium, featuring the honorable Charles Cobb, U.S. Ambassador to Iceland (1989-1992), the honorable George Mitchell, U.S. Senate Majority Leader (1989-1995), and the honorable Anthony A. Williams, Mayor of Washington, D.C. (1999-2007). Held two weeks before the presidential election, several accomplished Americans will speak in 15-minute TED-like talks to address the question, “My one piece of advice to the next President of the United States is …” This will be a fast-paced event that will be recorded for future use in the classroom and before the public. The intention is to address this question from personal experience while keeping in mind the intersection of business, government, and society.

  • Halloween Hoya Happy Hour (DC)

    Get ready to be spooked at the Georgetown Alumni Club of Metropolitan Washington DC Halloween Hoya Happy Hour!  Come wearing your costume, enjoy $4 Tecates, $6.50 Happy Hour Wines, $7 Margaritas and a Halloween Orange Smash in a festive atmosphere, and go home with candy in hand!  Mission, which was the popular spot of Washington, D.C.'s "Welcome to the Neighborhood" in 2015, is conveniently located near the Dupont Circle Metro Station.

    As Jay Gatbsy would say, "A little party never killed anybody," so come join other DC Hoyas for the 2016 Hoya Holiday Party. This year, we'll return to F. Scotts for a Gatsby-themed event where guests will enjoy great food, drink, music, and a toast from Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations and Executive Director of the Georgetown University Alumni Association, Bill Reynolds (C’79). Register by December 5 as spaces fill up quickly!


  • Advent Mass & Brunch w/DC Hoyas (DC)

    Date: Sunday, December 18, 2016, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

    Location: Dahlgren Chapel (Mass), 1789 (Brunch), Georgetown University

    Join Reverend Howard Gray, S.J., Father Kevin Gillespie, S.J. and fellow DC Hoyas in a celebration of Advent and the spirit of the Holiday Season!  Guests are invited to attend 11:00 am mass at Dahlgren Chapel presided over by Reverend Gray, and then to enjoy a scrumptious brunch buffet at 1789, which will be festively decorated for the Holidays. During the Brunch, Father Gillespie will speak on the Jesuit community and the importance of Advent. Register by December 14 as spaces fill up quickly!
