Why did you choose Georgetown?
When deciding whether or not to pursue a graduate degree, I noticed many of my mentors and managers had financial modeling skills that made them stand out among their peers. The one component that was consistent between all of them was that they are all graduates of the McDonough School of Business. I knew a degree from Georgetown would provide me with a strong expertise in finance.
What is your favorite memory or proudest moment from your time at Georgetown?
I will never forget the moment my team won first place in the Georgetown Master of Science in Finance Case Competition. We worked so hard and took a uniquely bold approach to the case. The risk was absolutely worth the reward.
What is one of the most important lessons you have learned while at Georgetown?
I learned that you cannot use the past to predict the future of markets, however, you can learn a lot from it and leverage that with additional data to take calculated risks.
Is there a particular person that helped shape your Georgetown experience into what it is today?
I would like to express my gratitude to the entire faculty and staff for making the program an incredible learning experience. I want to give a special thank you to James Angel, associate professor of finance; Jose-Luis Guerrero-Cusumano, associate professor of operations and information management; and Allan Eberhart, professor of finance, for the all of the lessons they taught me throughout my time at McDonough.
What was your favorite class?
My favorite class was Big Data. It gave us the chance to examine the challenging opportunities available for organizations leveraging big data.
What are you most looking forward to as an alumna?
I am most looking forward to mentoring other Hoyas throughout their career. I was lucky enough to be mentored by two amazing Hoya alumnae prior to becoming a student at Georgetown, and I’d like to carry on the tradition.
