Meet the Class of 2020: Cody Hibbs (MBA’20)

Cody Hibbs (MBA’20)
Hometown: Ortonville, Michigan

Why did you choose Georgetown?

When I got to Georgetown, I had this immense feeling of belonging. After attending Welcome Weekend, I knew that I had found the community that I wanted to go on this journey with, so I submitted my deposit the next day—I have not looked back since.

What is your favorite memory or proudest moment from your time at Georgetown?

My favorite memory was the Global Business Experience. It was an incredible experience to travel the world and witness the impact that business has on cities, countries, and most importantly, the everyday lives of people. Georgetown’s ethos of “Men and Women for Others” really hit home. It is my hope to use business to help people.

What is one of the most important lessons you have learned while at Georgetown?

Life will always be busy, but you have to find the time to give back. Community is created by the people in it, so it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that we help shape the world. The Georgetown community is strong because people participate.

What was your favorite class?

I absolutely loved my finance class. Finance was hard, frustrating, and fascinating—all at the same time. I learned the most in that class.

What are you most looking forward to as an alumnus?

I look forward to keeping in touch with the Georgetown community and helping future Hoyas succeed. My future was shaped by so many alumni, so I want to pay it forward.
