Student Programs

The Baratta Center directly engages with current students at Georgetown McDonough and other Georgetown University schools and departments such as the Walsh School of Foreign Service, the McCourt School of Public Policy, and the Department of Economics, by involving them in research and Baratta Center activities, providing leadership opportunities and employment placements, and broadly helping to shape the future of global business.

Global Business Experience (GBE)

As a leader in global business education, Georgetown McDonough provides all students the opportunity to travel abroad to consult either within an industry or with specific Fortune 500 companies. The program is required of all graduate students and is an elective for undergraduates. Working in small teams, students partner with executives from multinational organizations to address complex business challenges. The Baratta Center for Global Business board will leverage its industry relationships to help secure consulting engagements for student teams from our MBA and undergraduate programs.

Georgetown MBA - Global Consulting Singapore

MBAs in Singapore

MBA students consult for an international company during the GBE, a 6-8 week project where students solve the problem of a company with a specific scope of work. Some of our students recently traveled to Singapore for final presentations, site visits, and cultural excursions.

Global Business Fellows

The Global Business Fellows (GBF) is an innovative program, open to Georgetown McDonough undergraduate students, that combines fundamental business principles with required coursework in international affairs, economics, and languages. Such an interdisciplinary curriculum enables undergraduate students to analyze and solve challenges that impact business and public policy on a global scale.

The Baratta Center selects two to three GBFs every semester as student fellows and more broadly involves GBFs in research, company projects, and participation in Baratta Center speaker series and roundtables.

Audrey Zhou

“The Walsh School of Foreign Service classes I have taken, ranging from Map of the Modern World to Global Investment Foundations, allowed me to contextualize the business concepts I learned in McDonough to current world events. My junior summer internship experience with the Beeck Center in Kazakhstan was inspired by the courses that covered a variety of international topics.”
