Board Member Jay Jacobs
Jay Jacobs is a distinguished global fellow at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business. He began a three-year appointment as a McDonough fellow in January 2018.
Jacobs retired as president and managing director of PIMCO, a global investment firm that manages more than $1.7 trillion in assets, in September 2017. He was promoted to managing director in 2006 and was elected by his fellow partners as the firm’s president in January 2014. Over his 19 years at the firm, he held multiple senior management roles including serving as head of the firm’s Munich office and as a senior member of the European management team. He currently serves on the boards of Citigroup, Inc., Washington University in St. Louis, and the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from Georgetown McDonough.
