Resources for URM students
- Black MBA Association – The goal of the Black MBA Association is to cultivate diversity and increase the representation of Black leaders in business. It is a community that shares a common goal of enriching the McDonough experience while pursuing personal and career goals.
- Latin American Business Association – The Latin American Business Association (LABA) is the bridge connecting Georgetown McDonough to Latin America through access to professional opportunities, effective career-building support, and rich cultural exchange.
- Leading Teams for Performance and Impact (LTPI) Course – The new LTPI class provides students with a week-long course for academic credit where they discuss topics such as giving and receiving feedback, implicit bias, diversity and inclusion, and leading teams. Students in this initial cohort have said they feel it provided them with the foundation for the first semester and the rest of the program.
- MBA Diversity Week – Each fall semester, the Student Government vice presidents of diversity and inclusion for the Full-time and Flex MBA classes work with various student organizations to create programming for Georgetown McDonough’s Diversity Week.
- Focus on Diversity – Georgetown McDonough’s annual Focus on Diversity event is a special program designed to engage top-performing women, Underrepresented Minorities, LGBTQ+ students, and military service members with our inclusive MBA community. Throughout the day, prospective MBA students will attend a variety of sessions to gain insight into career and professional development resources available to McDonough students. Highlights of this day-long event include attending a mock MBA class and diversity-specific breakout sessions, as well as participating in panel discussions and networking events with our current students, faculty, alumni, and staff.
Scholarships and Financial Assistance
The Consortium for Graduate Study of Management
The Consortium enhances diversity in business education and leadership by helping reduce the underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans in MBA programs and in the ranks of management. As a member school, we provide scholarships for students who are admitted as part of The Consortium. For more information, please visit The Consortium website to learn how to complete the separate and common application. All eligible applicants are considered upon submitting a completed application to the Georgetown MBA program through The Consortium. National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA)
NBMBAA leads in providing educational opportunities and economic growth for Black professionals. In conjunction with The Consortium, Georgetown McDonough will award a minimum of two merit-based partial or full scholarships to NBMBAA student members. To be considered, you must first complete the NBMBAA scholarship application. NBMBAA also holds an annual professional conference where MBAs can connect with recruiters. Prospanica
Prospanica is dedicated to increasing the number of Hispanics graduating with MBAs. As a Prospanica university partner, we provide scholarships to Hispanic American students. Scholarships are merit-based and you must have a Prospanica membership and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of Hispanic/Latino heritage, with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better to be considered. All applicants are considered upon submitting a completed application to the Georgetown MBA Program.
Georgetown MBA Merit Scholarship
The McDonough School of Business awards scholarships based on an applicant’s academic, personal, and professional accomplishments. Recipients will demonstrate ethical leadership, academic accomplishment, and professional achievements through their application and interview for the MBA program. They typically show a commitment to service to others through past and current activities. All applicants are automatically considered upon submitting a completed application to the Georgetown MBA Program.
Need-Based Financial Aid
The Office of Student Financial Services assists qualified applicants who have financial eligibility to meet their educational and living costs. All U.S. citizens and permanent residents may be considered for federally funded programs. International students should inquire about financial support from the government of their home country or international private lenders, as they are not eligible for federal funding from the United States.
Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT)
Georgetown McDonough is a proud partner of the Management Leadership for Tomorrow MBA Prep Program. MLT’s MBA Prep programs provide African American, Latinx, and Native American professionals with personalized guidance and effective tools to successfully navigate the business school application process and optimize their MBA experience.
MBA JumpStart
Georgetown McDonough is a JumpStart academic partner. The organization works with top MBA programs and companies to engage diverse undergraduate, MBA, and experienced hire talent regarding career opportunities in various industries.
Admit.me Access
Georgetown McDonough is a proud partner of Admit.me Access, the only free comprehensive admission resource for Underrepresented Minorities (URMs) and women interested in applying to an MBA program. Admit.me Access and Georgetown McDonough have partnered to offer an Admit.me Access member a scholarship of up to $5,000.
