Porath Receives Axiom Business Book Award

Associate Professor of Management Christine Porath’s Mastering Civility: A Manifesto for the Workplace won bronze in the leadership category of the 2018 Axiom Business Book Awards.

The Axiom Awards recognize exemplary business books and their authors, particularly those that will inspire and help individuals improve their careers and businesses. Created in 2007, the Axiom Awards are the largest and most respected awards for business books.

Mastering Civility: A Manifesto for the Workplace is the culmination of Porath’s extensive research across the world and in nearly every industry on incivility in the workplace and building positive cultures where people can thrive. She demonstrates how leaders and organizations lose financially when they allow rudeness to run rampant, and how positive interactions are good for everyone.

“Several years ago, I thought about how this was the book I wanted to write,” said Porath. “I hoped it would make a difference and have a positive influence on people, organizations, and society.”
