Economic Summit: America's Digital Infrastructure

WHAT: The Center for Business and Public Policy at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business will host “An Economic Summit: America’s Digital Infrastructure 2017 and Beyond” on Wednesday, September 28, at Georgetown University’s downtown location. The summit will feature keynote remarks by Howard Shelanski, administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, U.S. Office of Management and Budget.

As the nation faces a political transition, the time is ripe to highlight and examine the underlying economics of policies that will ensure America’s leadership in the deployment and adoption of cutting-edge digital infrastructure. This economic summit will assemble leading economists from across the country to consider the principal economic policy challenges influencing the ongoing deployment of broadband technologies; discuss current economic policy developments that impact investment in and deployment of digital infrastructures; and offer recommendations for next-administration economic policies.

The summit will feature three panel discussions with more than a dozen prominent economists, including from Georgetown University, Harvard Business School, the University of Pennsylvania, University of California, Berkeley, the Progressive Policy Institute, and the Technology Policy Institute.
