Georgetown Entrepreneurship Wins Award for Student Engagement

Georgetown Entrepreneurship, serving all of Georgetown University from the McDonough School of Business, was recognized by the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) with the Outstanding Student Engagement and Leadership award. The award, given out at GCEC’s October conference, honors a center that amplifies its impact by achieving high levels of student engagement and student leadership in its entrepreneurship programs.

Georgetown Entrepreneurship, led by founding director Jeff Reid, inspires Georgetown students to be entrepreneurial, teaches them the entrepreneurial lessons learned by others before them, connects them to useful resources, and helps them pursue their own unique entrepreneurial interests. The initiative manages an array of courses and extracurricular programs to serve the Georgetown University and Washington, D.C., entrepreneurial communities.

The GCEC is an organization for university-based entrepreneurship programs to collaborate and share ideas. At its annual conference this year in Chicago, GCEC chose award winners from a pool of more than 100 entrepreneurial programs. Both Georgetown Entrepreneurship and the University of Notre Dame’s IDEA Center received the Outstanding Student Engagement and Leadership award.
