Jose Luis Guerrero Cusumano, associate professor of operations and information management, received the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management 2018 Distinguished Educator Award for his research, education, and dedication to the field. The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society presented the award on September 28 at its North American Conference Awards Dinner Banquet.

“This prize represents for me an international recognition of my efforts,” Guerrero said, “for interdisciplinary research in the area of big and small data, quality control and 6 Sigma and information theory, which not only link operation management to industrial engineering, but also shows how business and industry 4.0 academics should work and collaborate with engineering sciences.”
