MBA Student Selected as a Net Impact Healthy Food Fellow

Jeanine Buzali (MBA ’18) was recently chosen as a 2016-17 Healthy Food Fellow by Net Impact. Each year, Net Impact selects students who are passionate about a predetermined, specific topic to participate in the year-long program. Each Net Impact Fellow will execute an action project in their community that relates to their area of interest.

Before studying at Georgetown, Buzali ran an Indian cuisine cooking class and catering business in Shanghai, where she used local ingredients to create healthy dishes.

Buzali says she applied to the fellowship program after recognizing the lack of the healthy food industry’s presence in her studies.

“I applied to the Healthy Food Fellowship because I had noticed the absence of this industry in our case readings and discussions in class, as well as in our recruiting opportunities,” Buzali said. “I am quite passionate about healthy food… and I believe that everyone should have the education and access necessary for a healthy diet.”

As a Net Impact Fellow, Buzali will influence how the Georgetown community engages with food through an action project. She hopes to bring healthy food companies to Georgetown to increase recruitment opportunities for students.

All Net Impact Fellows are invited to a conference in Philadelphia from Nov. 3 to Nov. 5 to meet with their peers and participate in trainings. Fellows will remain in contact with their cohorts throughout the program.
