Summer Internship Spotlight: Esmé-Thea Rogers (MBA'19), Danaher Corporation

LEARN MORE ABOUT A GEORGETOWN MBA

Each year, our students spend their summers in Washington, D.C., across the nation, and around the world working in corporate, nonprofit, and government organizations. This month, we’re featuring Full-time MBA students with particularly interesting summer internships.

Esmé-Thea Rogers (MBA’19)

Diversity and Inclusion Human Resource Development Program Intern, Danaher Corporation
Washington, D.C.

What are you doing this summer?

My summer project is centered around standardizing work/life balance across the Danaher operating companies. Danaher has a decentralized culture which leads to a great variety in offerings available to associates. I have been tasked with taking steps to create consistency across the businesses while enhancing engagement and innovation.

How does Danaher relate to your professional or personal interests?

Danaher’s shared purpose is “Helping Realize Life’s Potential.” The purpose-driven work that Danaher does really resonates with my personal values. Danaher associates are creating the tools that help cure cancer and help bring clean water to areas around the world. They also have made a commitment to diversity and inclusion, which aligns with my professional goals.

How did you find the internship?

I am a Consortium Fellow, and I was connected with Danaher at our orientation program last summer.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve done so far this summer?

I was able to spend the first few days of my internship in Mexico City to get a hands-on understanding of diversity on a global scale.

What’s next?

I will be going to Japan post internship and before classes start. I am taking all recommendations on restaurants!
