Accounting Faculty

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track accounting faculty position, starting in Fall 2020. We are open to all levels of appointment — assistant professor, associate professor, or full professor. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or be near completion of a doctoral degree in accounting or a related field.

Tenure-Track Marketing Faculty

Georgetown McDonough invites applications for a tenure-track marketing faculty position, starting in Fall 2020. Rank is at the assistant level. Advanced assistants are welcome to apply.   

We are seeking candidates who examine practically relevant issues in their research using the consumer as the unit of analysis, regardless of their methodological orientation (e.g., experimental, modeling) or core discipline (e.g., psychology, economics, statistics).    

The McDonough School of Business is committed to and promotes a strong research culture. We seek applicants who are dedicated to publishing their research in A-level journals, teaching excellence, and contributing to the future growth of the school. Necessary support for doing such research and for professional development will be provided. Salary and benefits will be competitive with the leading business schools. The school has a fully functional behavioral lab managed by a full-time behavioral research manager.

The Marketing Area currently is composed of 12 tenure-track faculty: Sean Blair, Simon Blanchard, Michael Czinkota, Tatiana Dyachenko, Ronald Goodstein, Rebecca Hamilton, Prashant Malaviya, Michael O’Donnell, Neeru Paharia, Robert Thomas, Debora Thompson, and Luc Wathieu (see here).

Tenure Track-Professor – Entrepreneurship

We invite applications for a tenure-track position in Entrepreneurship in the Management Area. The position is posted at the open rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor), with a preference for Associate/early Full Professors.  A faculty Fellowship, Professorship, or Endowed Chair may be available for a suitably qualified candidate. Successful candidates will be accomplished researchers committed to continued high-quality scholarship and effective teaching.

The Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative is expanding its role in the McDonough School of Business and university. The Initiative is looking for a dynamic academic leader who will contribute both to the scholarship and practice of entrepreneurship. The Initiative runs the Georgetown Venture Lab sponsored by the Leonsis Family located at WeWork White House and has many connections to the vibrant Washington, D.C. entrepreneurial community.

Assistant Professor Positions in Operations Management

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in Operations Management, within the Operations and Information Management (OPIM) Area.  We seek to make appointments at the Assistant Professor level. Pending budget approval, the appointment would begin at the start of Fall 2020. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. from a business-related discipline, or expect to defend their dissertation by August 2020.  We are seeking candidates with demonstrated ability for distinguished research in Operations Management and teaching excellence in Operations Management, Management Science and/or Business Statistics. Candidates with interests in the areas of sustainability, technology/innovation, and healthcare, and demonstrated knowledge in data analytics/science, empirical operations management, and/or behavioral operations management are particularly encouraged to apply.

Tenure-Track/Tenured Strategy, Economics, Ethics, and Public Policy Faculty

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track position in its Strategy, Economics, Ethics, and Public Policy Area. The Strategy, Economics, Ethics, and Public Policy Area includes individuals whose primary research and teaching interests lie in economics, international business, international political economy, and strategy. The area is collegial and multi-disciplinary, with several members crossing disciplinary boundaries in research and teaching

The position is open to scholars interested in conducting applied, international research. It is our expectation that the successful candidate will be someone whose scholarship addresses either firm behavior in the global economy or how global political and economic institutions and processes affect firms. We especially encourage applicants whose work has appeared or will appear in leading scholarly outlets.

The position is an open rank position. Georgetown University prides itself on the teaching excellence of its faculty and the successful applicant will be someone who has either demonstrated teaching ability or has the aptitude for teaching excellence.
