Executive Master's in Leadership for D.C. Public School Principals
Through the EML for D.C. Public School Principals program, Georgetown McDonough helps prepare educators for the challenges and opportunities that arise in teaching the District’s youth.
As part of its ongoing commitment to service, Georgetown University formed a partnership in 2012 with the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) to customize an Executive Master’s in Leadership (EML) program for DCPS principals.
Inspired by DCPS chancellor Kaya Henderson’s own experience as a 2007 graduate of the Georgetown McDonough EML program, the rigorous curriculum is designed for educators who face the unique challenges of leading in a large urban public school system.
The 13-month program offers valuable insights on leadership and a business school curriculum that participants can apply to everyday professional experiences and that has the potential to make a positive impact on the world. Read about the program’s first graduating class.
Details on the application process are available from DCPS. Admission decisions are at the discretion of DCPS system leaders and the EML Academic Director at Georgetown McDonough.
