Hi! My name is Mallory Murray and I am a McDonough peer ambassador!

Interesting Fact About Me: I love to travel; I’ve gone toboggan sledding in the Swiss alps and snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef!

What made you choose Georgetown's McDonough School of Business? I wanted study in a program that integrated a global focus into the business curriculum. I love Georgetown’s location in DC and all the opportunities the nation’s capital offers.

What are the best things about being a Hoya? I love that Georgetown promotes the philosophy of cura personalis or ‘care of the whole person,’ supporting academic, social, spiritual, and extracurricular achievement.

Why do you love D.C.? The food! But, of course, also all the wonderful sightseeing opportunities. Students love to take a run to the monuments or study at the Library of Congress during finals. Not to mention all the incredible people that come to speak at Georgetown.

Share a defining and/or transformative classroom/educational moment: First semester, I took Professor Skuba’s seminar Patterns in Global Commerce. I enjoyed the open format of class discussions that allowed me to learn from the ideas of my peers.

What is your advice to incoming Hoyas? Get involved! You’ll hear it a thousand times, but I believe joining groups or activities on campus is the best way to get acclimated to a new environment and meet different people.
