Danielle Altenburger WELCOME TO GEORGETOWN!

Hi! My name is Danielle Altenburger and I am a McDonough peer ambassador.

Class: 2018

Majors: Accounting & Management

Extracurricular Activities: McDonough Peer Ambassador, Dahlgren Contemporary Choir, McDonough Women

Interesting Fact About Me: I am allergic to Bulldogs so, sadly, I can’t pet Jack when I see him around campus!

What made you choose Georgetown's McDonough School of Business? I chose McDonough because it seemed like a place where the faculty and deans really get to know students as more than just an ID number and care about their success. Three years in, I can say I was absolutely right!

What are the best things about being a Hoya? The endless resources available to us, the Hoya pride we all share, and living in D.C.

Why do you love D.C.? I love D.C. because it’s beautiful, lively, and historic & there are so many free things to do!

Share a defining and/or transformative classroom/educational moment? The most defining classroom moment for me was when I realized I didn’t hate Accounting like I was expecting to, but actually loved it and wanted to pursue it as a career!

What is your advice to incoming Hoyas? Even though you may be overwhelmed by school work and such a big lifestyle change, try to get involved as much as possible your first semester. It’s the best way to meet new friends and make the Hilltop feel like home!
