What made you choose Georgetown's McDonough School of Business?
Besides the beautiful building, I chose Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business because I liked the structure of the program. I wanted to be able to take business core classes right away with the option of also studying abroad as soon as I could, which I am doing this summer in Barcelona.
What are the best things about being a Hoya?
The phrase “Home on the Hilltop” cannot be any truer. Because campus is relatively small, it is easy to meet people and make Georgetown feel like your home away from home.
Why do you love D.C.?
The most inspiring aspect about Georgetown and D.C. are the amazing opportunities available. In this past year, I have done the Color Run at the Nationals Stadium, went to see Zoo Lights at the National Zoo, and have waited in line for 6 hours to see Hillary Clinton. There is so much to do in the city, be it professionally or socially.
Share a defining and/or transformative classroom/educational moment?
Within the first month of school, I realized how smart everyone was. I realized that I was surrounded by hundreds of “me’s.” Everyone was the president of that club, or accomplished this and that in high school, and everyone was just as intelligent, if not more, than me. I had to not be intimidated by them, and instead, use their knowledge to my advantage by studying in groups and asking my peers for help.
What is your advice to incoming Hoyas?
Take everything in. It is going to seem hectic and overwhelming at first, but try to not to be afraid of it or judge things right away. Georgetown has a lot to offer. And if you need help in any way, ask for it because there will always be someone who genuinely wants to see you succeed.
