For me, the best thing about being a Hoya has been being exposed to people of all backgrounds and from all corners of the globe.
Why do you love D.C.?
I love D.C. because of its multitude of learning opportunities outside of the classroom. From the city’s museums to the incredible speakers it draws, it is a perfect place to get a college education!
Share a defining and/or transformative classroom/educational moment?
This past spring semester in my Financial Accounting class, my struggles in a particular topic prompted me to go to a professor’s office hours for the first time. My professor explained the material in a slightly different way, and it made a world of difference. She was so happy to help me and I learned the benefits of reaching out to professors.
What is your advice to incoming Hoyas?
I would advise incoming Hoyas to establish a routine for class days. A routine will keep you on track with your reading and other studying throughout the semester and help to reduce stress during exams.
