What are the best things about being a Hoya?
The people! The community on campus is one that I’m so proud to be a part of. Each and every person you meet is not only brilliant, they also have an amazing story to tell and inspiring goals to reach.
Why do you love D.C.?
It’s so exciting to be in the midst of the important political happenings of our country. By being a Georgetown student, you have the opportunity to interact with huge historical events and the people who make them happen!
Share a defining and/or transformative classroom/educational moment?
My first year, I took Level 2 Chinese, which was definitely out of my language level. My professor noticed that I was struggling and arranged a weekly 1 hour session with me out of class to help my language skills. Coming from a tiny high school, I was worried that college professors wouldn’t care about individual students, but they do want you to learn and succeed!
What is your advice to incoming Hoyas?
Be open to new experiences! Try joining a club that is completely different than what you did in high school; you might find a new passion along the way.
