Eric Young
Assistant Dean, Technology, Media, Entertainment & Sports, and Venture Capital Industries and Entrepreneurship
Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach
Eric leads relationship building with employers and MBA students interested in the technology, media, entertainment, sports, and venture capital industries. He also coaches MBA students interested in entrepreneurship. Eric joined the Georgetown McDonough Career Center following a 20-year international career at Accenture, where he began as a technology consultant and served in various human resources roles across the United States, India, and Canada.
Eric holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in organizational management from The George Washington University, and a certificate in corporate leadership from Georgetown University.
Assistant Dean, Financial Services, Real Estate, and Hospitality Industries
Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach
Maureen leads relationship building with employers and MBA students interested in financial services, real estate, and hospitality. Maureen joined the Georgetown McDonough Career Center from the NYU Stern Office of Career Development, where she was the director of relationship management, responsible for creating and expanding opportunities for Stern students by building strategic partnerships with diverse organizations.
Prior to joining Stern, Maureen was a vice president in operations at Credit Suisse Securities and Goldman, Sachs & Company where she specialized in oversight of core control functions, business process improvement, campus recruitment, project management, and staff development. Maureen received an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Georgetown University.
Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach
Lawrence leads relationship building with employers and MBA students interested in consulting. He began his consulting career with Booz Allen Hamilton after a 22-year career as an officer in the U.S. Army. At Booz Allen, he supported clients in the healthcare and human capital markets, and led interdisciplinary teams of consultants on eight distinct contracts or task orders with a total award value of $33M during the period of 2008 to 2013. He also was very involved with employee recruiting.
Lawrence holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy, an M.A. in international policy studies from Stanford University, and an MPA from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He also completed a change management certification program at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and is a Project Management Professional (PMP).
Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach
Sarah advises MBA students interested in consulting. Her primary focus areas are commercial strategy, M&A, and financial services consulting. She also manages and expands the Georgetown McDonough Career Center’s recruiting relationships with consulting industry employers. Sarah joined the Georgetown McDonough Career Center from a career in independent consulting. She also has previously worked within the financial services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a number of startups in retail, social impact, and technology including Jet.com and Third Sector Capital Partners.
Throughout her career, Sarah has remained dedicated to education, student life, and mentorship. She holds an MBA in management, organizational effectiveness, and entrepreneurship from the Wharton School and a BSBA magna cum laude in accounting and finance from Georgetown University.
Associate Director, Marketing, Consumer Products & Goods, Healthcare, and Manufacturing & Transportation Industries / Industry Practice Leader
Trudy advises MBA students interested in the marketing and sales function and leads relationships with employers and students interested in consumer products, retail/e-commerce, healthcare and manufacturing/transportation.
Trudy joined the Georgetown McDonough Career Center following a 25-year career with IBM, Microsoft, a few small companies, and one startup where she was an entrepreneur. She began working in manufacturing and research at IBM, moved to increasingly responsible sales and marketing roles, and recently led sales enablement programs for IBM US, Latin America and Canada. Over her career, she served clients in many industries, including consumer products, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, transportation, government and technology.
Trudy holds a B.S. in Facilities Planning from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Connecticut, as well as credentials from IBM’s Advanced Sales Coaching program and the Co-Active Training Institute.
Kerry leads the career curricula and communications team for the McDonough Career Center in developing and delivering resources to support the career goals of students across all McDonough academic programs. She most recently held management roles in membership and education programs with two science-based non-profit associations with an emphasis on cultivating professional development and career opportunities for those with STEM backgrounds. She also has held leadership roles with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Career Center and began her career in technical consulting for the nuclear power industry with MPR Associates.
Kerry holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Duke University and an M.A. in higher education administration from The George Washington University.
Ja’net provides strategic support to the McDonough Career Center in the areas of finance, budgets, analytics, and operations. Prior to joining the Career Center, Ja’net was the director of admissions for the Master of Science in Foreign Service Program at Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. She also held a leadership position with the Medical School for International Health at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Prior to joining academia, Ja’net held various positions supporting students, mostly from untapped and historically underrepresented backgrounds, at National Medical Fellowships, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and the Institute of International Education.
Ja’net earned her MPA with a concentration in international management from American University and her B.A. in political science with a minor in international studies from Wake Forest University. She also recently completed the Professional Project Management Certificate at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.
As a recruitment coordinator, Adam manages logistics and provides support in the areas of recruitment coordination, event logistics, project management, and internal relations. After receiving his B.A. in english from Georgetown University, Adam worked for Georgetown’s Undergraduate Career Center as a recruiting coordinator, managing employer relationships and recruitment activities for Georgetown’s undergraduate students. Prior to joining the McDonough Career Center, Adam worked as a college recruiter in the technology industry.
Adam is currently pursuing his Master’s in higher education administration from Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies.
Marissa Bockeno
Recruitment and Event Coordinator
Operations
Marissa supports the Georgetown McDonough Career Center with logistical coordination, event planning, and operational support. While doing this, she focuses on recruitment activities that promote job placement for both students and employers.
Marissa received her B.S from Ithaca College in communication management and design with a concentration in corporate communications and a minor in African diaspora. During her undergraduate studies, she worked for Ithaca College in the Office of Conference and Event Services where she planned and executed 100+ collegiate-related events. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Marissa worked as a Service Team Leader at Wegmans where she focused on employee development and customer relations.
Marissa was born and raised in Syracuse, NY, but lived in Ithaca, NY, before relocating to the DMV area. She is also currently pursuing her Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies.
