Aggarwal Elected Vice President of Financial Management Association International

This month, Robert E. McDonough Professor of Finance Reena Aggarwal was elected vice president of the annual meeting program for the Financial Management Association International (FMA). Under this title, Aggarwal will be responsible for organizing the celebration of the 50th anniversary of FMA in 2020.

FMA connects more than 4,000 international finance practitioners, academics, and students who are interested in the techniques and advances in the field of finance. For 48 years, FMA has been a global leader in developing and disseminating knowledge about financial decision making through its efforts to bridge interests among members and enhance the quality of finance education.

“2020 will be particularly significant because we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of an inclusive organization that reaches out to both academics and practitioners in the financial capital of the world,” said Aggarwal, who also serves as vice provost for faculty and director of the Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy.

The 2020 conference will receive close to 2,000 papers from all over the world, resulting in more than 250 sessions. Aggarwal will be responsible for coordinating the program, which will include a Doctoral Students Consortium, an Assistant Professors’ Breakfast, a Women’s Networking Luncheon, and a ceremony for the Outstanding Financial Executive Award.
