Business of Health

Our Mission

The Business of Health Initiative at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business addresses critical challenges in the healthcare industry to support the wellness of both business and society. Through student learning, multidisciplinary research, and convening with practitioners, policymakers, and industry leaders, the initiative inspires forward-thinking solutions to the national healthcare system.

Our Pillars

Student Learning

Through partnerships with Georgetown’s leading schools of health and medicine, the initiative helps develop and foster key curricular and co-curricular opportunities to enhance student learning, including the MBA Certificate in the Business of Healthcare and the MBA/MD dual degree program.

Thought Leadership

The initiative is home to top researchers across the university who are conducting research and developing practical solutions to the healthcare system. Throughout the year, the initiative hosts a Health Economics Seminar Series in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University to convene academic leaders and advance research and insights in the field.

Convening and Outreach

The initiative brings together corporations, policymakers, medical professionals, and the broader Georgetown network of students, faculty, staff, and alumni, to discuss pressing issues and solve problems that will drive positive health outcomes for our communities.
