Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative Announces Finalists of 2018 Leonsis Family Entrepreneurship Prize

The Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business announces the 2018 finalists for the Leonsis Family Entrepreneurship Prize.

Student entrepreneurs will share their ventures with the community at the inaugural Leonsis Family Entrepreneurship Prize “Bark Tank” pitch competition event on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018.

The eight finalists are:

Campus SherpaDavid Patou (COL’18), Daniel Testa (COL’19), and Jackie Sideris (COL’18). Campus Sherpa provides personalized college tours for high school students by matching them with current students who share their interests.

ClassPulseClaudia Recchi (B’17). ClassPulse is a professional development tool that allows professors to collect actionable feedback from their students throughout the semester.

Cusp 365Jaclyn DiGregorio (B’17). Cusp 365 is a college girl’s guide to healthy living. The Cusp It App helps college women be healthy, confident and real.

Edible FinanceSunny Gupta (MBA’19) and Chris Johnson (MBA’19). Edible Finance is an Instagram-like stories platform for investments. It provides bite-sized investment tidbits via stories and videos that drive revenue generating investment actions.

FoublieMelissa Antal (MBA’19). Foublie is an on-demand service that connects parents with questions about nutrition, food and feeding to specialists and catered resources.

Galapagos StrategiesRamya Possett (MBA’17). Galapagos Strategies disrupts the IP model with upfront market analyses, innovative consulting workshops, and the creation of strategic IP that generates value.

HatchJP Coakley (MBA’18) and Kelsey Lents (MBA’18). Hatch is a flexible coworking and licensed child care solution for parents in the gig economy that aligns professional and parental needs.

Qoral HealthShivum Bharill (COL’17) and Rainier Go (B’17). Qoral Health expands mental health care access in colleges through teletherapy. Students are matched with a therapist and participate in video chat sessions.

Current Georgetown undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Georgetown alumni within six months of graduation, are eligible to win the prize and may be nominated as individuals or as teams. Georgetown’s Entrepreneurs-in-Residence provide valuable mentorship to the Leonsis prize recipients. Recipients of the prize are selected through a rigorous nomination, application, and review process.

The Leonsis Family Entrepreneurship Prize is supported by Ted Leonsis (C’77), a longtime entrepreneur, investor, and founder, majority owner, chairman and chief executive officer of Monumental Sports & Entertainment; his wife, Lynn; his son, Zach (MBA’15), senior vice president of strategic initiatives of Monumental Sports & Entertainment and general manager of Monumental Sports Network; and his daughter, Elle (C’14), digital marketing director of SnagFilms, Inc.
