Summer Internship Spotlight Series: Paulina Pellecer Aguilar (MBA’27)

Each year, our students spend their summers in Washington, D.C., across the nation, and around the world working in corporate, nonprofit, and government organizations. Meet a few of our graduate and undergraduate students in our Summer 2026 Internship Spotlight series. 

This summer, Paulina Pellecer Aguilar (MBA’27) interned with EY’s Supply Chain practice in New York City, where she worked on operations management projects for clients while gaining firsthand consulting experience. Combining a background in supply chain management with their MBA studies at Georgetown McDonough, Pellecer Aguilar spent the summer tackling complex business challenges, collaborating with experienced consultants, and contributing to client workshops. Here, she shares what she learned, the projects she is most proud of, and her advice for future interns.

Tell us about your internship and what attracted you to it?

This summer, I’m interning at EY Supply Chain in New York City, where my project is focused on operations management. I majored in supply chain management before pursuing my MBA at McDonough, and I also had previous experience in consulting, so EY felt like the perfect place to bring those two interests together. I was especially drawn to the chance to work on real client problems and learn from people who’ve built careers solving problems that I find interesting and complex.

Describe a typical day.

On a typical day, I start with a morning check-in with my team, where we set our deliverable targets and talk through priorities. From there, I dive into that day’s work, which can be either working through analysis, building client decks, jumping on client calls, or internal calls with the team. Days can vary a lot, which keeps things interesting.

What’s a project you’re especially proud to be working on?

I’m proud to be able to help organize and create content for multiple client workshops during my internship. Getting to see an idea go from a planning conversation to something tangible that the team actually uses has been really rewarding, and I feel lucky to contribute.

What’s the most interesting meeting you’ve sat in on?

Some of the most interesting meetings have been ones where I got to hear EY partners talk through their work and the projects they’ve led at major corporations around the world. Listening to them reminded me just how far-reaching consulting can be, and how many different kinds of problems it touches. 

Which McDonough class has unexpectedly helped you the most during your internship?

Leadership Communications was a helpful class in terms of developing my confidence and making me feel more prepared to speak with my manager and peers.

What’s your advice for future interns?

Be grateful, stay curious, and say yes to opportunities whenever you can! The summer goes by faster than you’d expect. I’d also encourage you to reconnect with Georgetown alumni along the way; they’re often happy to help, and it’s worth taking the time to thank the people who helped you get there.
