Meet the Class of 2021: Ashish Raval (EMBA’21)

Ashish Raval (EMBA’21)
Hometown: Fairfax, Virginia

What are your post-graduate plans?

Lead an organization to success and become the president/general manger CEO of a midsize company. Also get involved with Georgetown University Lifelong learning and the Alumni association.

What is your favorite memory or proudest moment from your time at Georgetown?

My favorite memory is Opening Residency and New Venture Residency that allowed me to really interact with Georgetown faculty and students. I truly discovered how amazingly cooperative the students were and the Jesuit spirit of giving and team work.

What is one of the most important lessons you have learned while at Georgetown?

In order to succeed, you need a team that is inclusive, diverse, and respectful of each other. A good team and the collective talent of all teams can generate far superior results that just an individual can. I also learned that to teach is to learn twice — so the more you share and collaborate, the more you learn in the process.

Is there a particular person that helped shape your Georgetown experience?

Dean Paul Almeida and Associate Dean Bardia Kamrad. There are several I can name but these two gentlemen have taught me so much about passion, compassion, care, integrity, belonging and diversity.

What was your favorite class?

Strategy and M&A.

Raval with his Opening Residence team.

What are you most looking forward to as an alumna?

Life long learning and getting involved in working with Georgetown to promote our school.

Anything else you’d like to share about your story?

I have travelled more than 4 million miles, over 90 countries, and six continents. Visited six Wonders of the World — just short of one. I love to meet new people and work with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
