U.S. News & World Report listed Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business 12th in its annual ranking of online graduate business programs.

U.S. News evaluates schools by examining all of their online (non-MBA) degrees as a whole. Georgetown McDonough’s ranking was based on data from its only online program, the Master of Science in Finance (MSF). Among schools in the ranking that also offer an online MSF, Georgetown McDonough is 3rd.

Georgetown McDonough also ranks 6th in the nation for online business degrees for veterans, and 2nd among schools with online MSF degrees in that category.

“At Georgetown McDonough, we have created our blended MSF degree to emulate the feeling of community our school is known for, yet in a digital environment,” said Allan Eberhart, director of the MSF program and professor of finance. “Our interactive media platform, blended classroom, and personalized attention from faculty and staff ensure that our graduates gain the benefits of a Georgetown degree and our worldwide network in a learning environment flexible to their needs.”

For the ranking, U.S. News evaluated online programs (excluding MBAs) from multiple business disciplines in the areas of student engagement, admissions selectivity, student services and technology, faculty credentials and teaching, and peer assessment.

The Georgetown MSF offers asynchronous learning through its Anytime Media platform and synchronous weekly case discussions in its blended classroom, where students have the option to attend in person or remotely from anywhere in the world. It also includes the signature Global Business Experience, where students consult for a company abroad and then travel to present recommendations to senior leadership.

The program now offers two tracks – students can complete the program part-time while continuing to work full-time, or on a full-time basis that includes supplemental career preparation coursework to help students pursue an internship or a full-time job. Students in both tracks are united into a single cohort for the duration of the program to encourage camaraderie and colearning among classmates. To learn more about the Georgetown MSF program, visit the program’s website or contact the admissions office directly.
