Jing Deng

Jing Deng is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the McDonough School of Business. Her research examines the why, how, and so-what of the location and relocation decisions of firms, including incumbents and startups. In her research, Jing leverages the micro-U.S. census data, among other datasets. She is a Special Sworn Status researcher at the U.S. Census Bureau.

Prior to getting her PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder, Jing studied urban and regional planning and economics at UCLA and Peking University. She worked in private and public sectors in the U.S. and China before coming back to academia. Jing has taught strategy courses several times during her PhD and received the Best Teaching Award for her outstanding teaching performance.
