Michael C. Hitchcock

Michael Hitchcock is the president and founder of Charles Atwater Group, LLC. He is a certified executive coach with over 30 years of leadership, sales, and business development experience. Hitchcock has worked for the last decade and a half to provide corporate growth strategies to small businesses operating within the U.S. defense sector.

Hitchcock’s experience in the defense sector began long before his career in professional consulting. He is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Infantry Officer and combat veteran, serving in Operations Desert Shield and Storm.

After retiring from the Marine Corps in 2008, Hitchcock worked as a military analyst for Booz Allen Hamilton, providing analytical support to the former U.S. Joint Forces Command’s Joint Experimentation Directorate. After transitioning from Booz Allen Hamilton, he formed Charles Atwater Group, LLC, to assist small- and medium-sized businesses in navigating the complex federal government contracting environment.

As an internal consultant for a small defense contractor, Hitchcock turned around declining sales to reposition the company for success by capturing and winning over $10 million in defense contracts in less than 18 months. Additionally, he has served as the chief operating officer for a small technology firm whose primary customer supported the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), where he was responsible for corporate growth and operations management.

Hitchcock’s coaching has focused on leadership development and assisting military members in transitioning into corporate leadership positions. He holds a doctorate in strategic leadership from Regent University, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a B.S. in economics from Western Michigan University.

He is your coach if you are interested in leadership development, transitioning from the military into corporate leadership positions, and navigating the federal consulting industry.
