Mentorship

McDonough Undergraduate Alumni-Student Mentoring Program

The McDonough Undergraduate Alumni-Student Mentoring Program links current undergraduates with the best and brightest Georgetown McDonough alumni. Each fall, students are matched with mentors to begin the program. Mentors and protégés meet throughout the semester to discuss topics such as interviewing skills, resume design, networking/dining etiquette, internship/employment search, and any other career-related topic that comes to mind.

To inquire about or apply to the program, please contact Talia Schatz, assistant dean, McDonough Undergraduate Office of Professional Development.

McDonough MBA Mentor Program

Each fall, over 200 alumni volunteer as mentors for the incoming first year MBA class. Mentors are significantly experienced alumni who are highly engaged with Georgetown and, ideally, acquainted with MBA recruiting to assist in career discussions. This program runs from September through the end of the academic year in May. Mentees will be selected by Georgetown McDonough staff and faculty.

Please reach out to Maureen Cleary, assistant dean, MBA Careers, if you have any questions about the program.

Host a Hoya Program

Host a Hoya is an opportunity for Georgetown McDonough undergraduate students to connect with an alumnus who works in a field they are excited to explore over the January winter break. Students shadow alumni and learn about their day-to-day work and gain advice, insights, and experience. For alumni, this is a micro-mentorship opportunity to get to know a talented Hoya and share professional expertise.

For more information and to get involved, contact Talia Schatz, assistant dean, Undergraduate Careers.

MBA Certificate in Sustainable Business Mentorship Program

Led by Faculty Director Vishal Agrawal and Business for Impact Managing Director Bill Novelli, the MBA Certificate In Sustainable Business meets the demand of today’s students who seek purpose in their careers and the skills to manage the triple bottom line – people, planet, and profit.

In addition to the rigorous academic coursework, BFI curates the extracurricular offerings meant to foster relationships among certificate students and help orient them to jobs in impact. In partnership with Net Impact, BFI created a mentorship program, matching certificate students with alumni working in impact jobs.

The Mentorship Program will start again in early Spring 2022. Please reach out to Business for Impact if you have any questions about the program.
