Students Earn Third Place at U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Inaugural MBA Case Competition

On Nov. 3, MBA students John Wenstrand (MBA ’18), Tejal Desai (MBA ’17), Raquel Pedrozo (MBA ’18), Josh Geilhufe (MBA ’18), and Iolani Lightbourne (MBA ’18) earned third place in the final competition of the inaugural MBA Case Competition hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The event centered on developing corporate social responsibility strategies for a fictional grocery store chain. Thirty-four teams from 12 business schools across the country participated in the competition.

For the final round, the students — who called themselves Georgetown4Commerce — presented to a panel of judges that included leaders from FedEx Freight, the Tuck School of Business at Darthmouth College, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at the organization’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. The students won a cash prize of $2,500.
