Georgetown’s Part-time MBA Introduces Greater Flexibility for Working Professionals

Starting in the fall, students enrolling in the Flex MBA program at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business will be able to complete the degree more quickly, now in as little as 26 months.

“We are in a state of continuous innovation, ensuring that the MBA program meets the needs of our students and employers,” said Prashant Malaviya, senior associate dean for MBA programs. “Our part-time students now have more flexibility to complete the degree at a pace that works for them.”

The change is made possible by transitioning some core courses to electives or from semester-long courses to seven-week courses. By freeing up time during the academic year, students can either complete the degree at an accelerated pace or have more flexibility to craft a schedule that better aligns with their work-life goals.

The adjustment in Flex MBA requirements follows the announcement of additional options to make the MBA more flexible for part-time students, including blended and Saturday electives, the ability to transfer credits in from other graduate studies, and changing the duration, now from a minimum of 26 months to five years to complete the program.
