MBA Alumnus Named 30 Under 30 in Sustainable Business
Miguel CuUnjieng (MBA ’15), corporate program manager at Ceres, Inc., has been named one of the “30 Under 30” people to watch in sustainable business by GreenBiz Group, a media and events company in corporate sustainability.
“Being named as one of the emerging leaders in business sustainability is an incredible honor that I never anticipated,” CuUnjieng said. “This recognition only reaffirms my commitment to a career in this space and inspires me to deepen my expertise in the shared value realm.”
CuUnjieng is a life-long outdoorsman and sustainability professional from Manila, Philippines. He received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and environmental studies from Santa Clara University before earning his Georgetown McDonough MBA.
“I am so thankful to Georgetown McDonough, my fellow 2015 classmates, and professors like Bill Novelli, [distinguished professor of the practice], for continuing to help me grow professionally,” he said. “It is in part due to the uniquely collaborative and mission-driven environment at Georgetown McDonough that I feel empowered to make a difference in the realm of business sustainability.”
The 2016 list highlights “individuals to watch” for breaking new ground in green business. These individuals are making a difference in areas as diverse as renewable energy and green building, the circular economy and supply chains, resilient cities and transportation, chemicals, and health care, agriculture and finance.
“These men and women have demonstrated leadership qualities in their organizations, sectors or in the wider world of business, including within some of the world’s largest companies,” said GreenBiz Chairman and Executive Editor Joel Makower. “They represent the full potential of sustainable business to transform companies, consumers, value chains, and systems of commerce.”
