McDonough MBA Ranks Among Nation’s Best in U.S. News, Top-5 for International Business and Nonprofit Careers

U.S. News & World Report continues to rate Georgetown McDonough’s Full-time and Flex MBA Programs among the nation’s best graduate business programs – placing 22nd and 17th, respectively, in this year’s annual rankings.

Within the listed categories, McDonough ranked in the top five for careers in international business (3rd) and nonprofit (5th), and in the top 10 for real estate (7th) and project management (9th). The school was also recognized as a top Executive MBA program (17th) and a leading school for entrepreneurship (23rd) and finance (27th).

“Our MBA program prepares students for the changing dynamics of global business,” said Prashant Malaviya, senior associate dean for MBA programs. “By leveraging our international presence, multidisciplinary curriculum, and Jesuit heritage, we deliver an educational experience where students learn to be compassionate and successful leaders in their chosen fields.”

Georgetown’s position in the ranking is a reflection of its strong recruitment of students and its dedication to offering the same curriculum and services to both full-time and part-time students. For the rankings, U.S. News considers assessments by other business school deans, from which McDonough maintained a high peer rating for both programs. The ranking also weighs admissions and employment data from 2021.

In fall 2021, the MBA program recruited its most selective and diverse class to date, increasing the representation of underrepresented minority students from 19% to 20% and international students from 28% to 37%. The class of 2021 also found success in their job search, with 96% of students receiving a job offer within three months of graduation and 95% accepting their offers – the highest levels ever achieved by MBA graduates.

The Georgetown MBA continues to innovate and introduce new programming, including certificates in global real estate and sustainable business, an MBA Mentorship Program that matches students with alumni mentors to support career exploration and relationship building, and Operation: Cura Personalis to build community and promote programs that support students’ well-being in mind, body, and spirit.

“We are constantly seeking new ways to enhance our program through collaborative offerings, mentorship support, and enrichment opportunities that care for the whole person,” said Malaviya. “Our students benefit from a rigorous, relevant business education, where our faculty and staff are deeply committed to their success and well-being.”
