David McLean is the William G. Droms Professor of Finance and Finance Area Chair at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. His research spans asset pricing, behavioral finance, and corporate finance, with a particular focus on stock return predictability, investor behavior, and the interaction between financial markets and corporate decision-making. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. His research has received numerous honors, including the Amundi Smith Breeden Award for the best paper in the Journal of Finance and the Jensen Prize for the best paper in the Journal of Financial Economics.
Professor McLean currently serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and has previously served as an Associate Editor at Management Science, Journal of Empirical Finance, and other journals. He has held visiting academic appointments at institutions including MIT, Aalto University, ESCP Paris, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is the author of The Case for Shareholder Capitalism: How the Pursuit of Profit Benefits All.
