Hemal K. Vaidya (SFS’95, L’24)

Hemal K. Vaidya serves as a strategy and financial advisor to the public sector and multinational corporations. With over 25 years spanning the White House, Amazon Web Services, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, and Georgetown University, Vaidya focuses on the intersection among public, private, and nonprofit sectors to address complex business challenges and public policy issues. As an entrepreneur and partner at Deloitte, Vaidya created a sustained track record of growing businesses in various sectors and industries in the United States, India, and multilateral organizations. After serving as partner in the Boston Consulting Group, where the Federal Practice grew by double digits despite the pandemic and recessionary pressures, Vaidya was asked to join Amazon Web Services, where he now leads the firm’s global strategy practice for government, healthcare, and nonprofit clients.  

Vaidya advises CXO-level clients across federal, state, and municipal governments in the United States and India, in higher education, and nonprofit organizations. In addition to serving clients, Vaidya led Deloitte’s Global Corporate Social Responsibility program to expand education and digital access to 50 million women and girls by 2030. He serves as a professor, leader in residence, and executive coach at Georgetown University’s Walsh Schools of Foreign Service and McDonough School of Business, where he designed their first course on Public Private Partnerships. He is also a professor of policy and finance at the University of Maryland. Vaidya is the founder of IMPACT: Inspire Meaningful, Peaceful, and Civic Thinking, an organization addressing students’ and experienced professionals’ needs for leadership development and analyzing career options in an increasingly global and digital economy. He is also serving a multi-year term as a senior advisor to the South Asia Center of the Atlantic Council.  

Vaidya received his bachelor’s degree in political economy from Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and the London School of Economics, and his master’s degree in public finance and policy from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. He also graduated from Harvard’s National Security Program at the Kennedy School of Government. Vaidya is now pursuing his JD and LLM law degrees at Georgetown Law School, where he will focus on corporate litigation, public interest law, and national security law. At Georgetown Law, Vaidya was selected as a National Security Law Scholar and finalist in the Barristers’ Council Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition during his first year. After his second year, was selected to serve as Georgetown Law’s legal research assistant to update the seminal casebook on international criminal and human rights law.
