Fasika Tefera is an award-winning organizational change consultant and executive coach, she has had the privilege of leading and advising leaders in executing strategy and change, and enhancing organization and individual performance.
Tefera’s approach to coaching is grounded in behavioral science, neuroscience, and organizational best practices. Her understanding of psychology and systems helps leaders see what influences their individual choices and identify strengths and blind spots to attain individual goals. As a trusted thinking partner, Tefera helps to clarify thinking and highlight multiple options for action. She supports leaders in developing concrete actionable plans to attain desired outcomes.
In addition to her work within Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies,Tefera is a practicing consultant and coach supporting executives in the public and private sector to align human capital activities with organizational goals and strategy to achieve long-term growth and sustainability. Her work includes advising and coaching leaders to increase employee engagement, enhance team effectiveness, achieve organizational goals, and lead strategic change initiatives.
Tefera also is committed to making a meaningful difference in the community. She has served as the executive director of Fusion Dance Company, a nonprofit organization focused on bringing the arts to underprivileged youth and children. And partnering with Fairfax County to offer team building and leadership workshops to underprivileged communities. Tefera has been recognized as a Distinguished Partner by Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services for her work with the Women Inspired Neighborhoods leadership retreat.
Tefera obtained her B.S. in psychology from the University of Mary Washington and her MBA in organization development from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. She completed the Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching program at Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership and is an International Coaching Federation Certified Coach. She serves on Georgetown University’s faculty teaching students within the executive certificate program about organization development theory, group dynamics, and methods to navigate team conflict. She is considered a thought leader serving as a guest speaker and panelist for conferences, professional networks, and universities in the areas of leadership, diversity, leadership personality assessments, and organization development.
