Libby Graves

Libby Graves has been coaching Georgetown MBA students since 2012. Her first role was career clarification coach, using her training in appreciative inquiry to support students on their career path post-MBA. She continues to coach Full-time MBA, Flex MBA, and Executive MBA students, and coached the Global Executive MBAs until the program was retired. Her focus areas are discerning what’s next, career pivots, career advancement, and leadership. She has co-created career and leadership excellence workshops during her time at McDonough.

Graves is a Master Certified Coach to senior executives and emerging leaders globally. She partners with her clients to build leadership skills, adapting to the complexity and ambiguity in the workplace today. Graves supports her clients to access their deeper wisdom by cultivating greater self-awareness as the foundation for personal and professional growth. Leaders at all levels learn to take action and accountability that move them forward.

She brings more than 25 years of experience in leadership positions at Fortune 100 companies and understands the constantly changing demands of the workplace and what it takes to lead. She has broad exposure and sensitivity to diversity, having lived and worked in multi-cultural environments. After leaving the corporate world, she founded her coaching practice, Core Citizen. Graves also is an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership, teaching executive leaders how to coach.

Graves holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in accounting from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. She is certified by the International Coach Federation as a Master Certified Coach, and Board Certified Coach from CCE Global. With more than 2,500 hours of coach training, she holds certifications and advanced training in behavioral assessments, mindfulness practices, and neuroscience.

Her clients span private industry, nonprofits, U.S. Federal Government and United Nations agencies, Biotech, and consumer packaged goods, including organizations such as IMF, NIH, USAID, IRS, Palladium, FHI360, S&P Global, Capital One, BMO, Welltower, Intelsat, EY, Deloitte, and SAP.

In addition, Graves offers pro bono leadership coaching to several nonprofit organizations, including Halcyon House, an incubator for social entrepreneurs, and Vital Voices for women entrepreneurs. She has volunteered with Court Appointed Special Advocates in Washington, D.C., supporting young adults as they emerge from the foster care system.
