EmpowerHER is a program designed to support and empower women business leaders at Georgetown McDonough throughout their career journey. Our mission is to create a space for MBA alumnae to build meaningful connections, share experiences, and support each other both personally and professionally.

Mission

EmpowerHER is committed to connecting and empowering Georgetown MBA alumnae. The program supports alumnae business leaders through all phases of their career paths by providing networking and learning circles, which offer a space for women to build meaningful connections, share experiences, and support each other personally and professionally.

Monthly Meetings and Receptions: Members can connect with fellow alumnae at regular meetings and events, facilitating relationship-building and collaboration.

Access to Industry Leaders: Engage with industry luminaries during events such as the Georgetown McDonough conference receptions, including the Georgetown Women in Business (GWiB) annual conference.
Professional Development
Faculty and Leadership Engagement: Circles provide exclusive opportunities to interact with faculty and school leadership, allowing members to gain insights into initiatives and research at Georgetown McDonough.

Career Guidance: Members guide current women students and alumni at various life stages through mentoring, coffee chats, and participation in recruiting events and career panels.
Community Building
Diverse Membership: Circles are formed to ensure diversity across various life stages, creating a rich and inclusive environment for all members, from prospective students to late-career alumni.

Long-Term Commitment: Members are encouraged to commit to two years of active participation, which helps build trust and strong connections within the community.
Collaborative Initiatives
Partnerships with Other Organizations: Engage with the Georgetown Women in Business Club and participate in their yearly conference and other Georgetown initiatives to further support the program’s goals.

Get Involved

Membership and Leadership:
Each circle in a region includes regional leaders (regional chair and event chair/facilitator), members, and volunteers. Leaders and members will commit to serving a two-year term in that circle (unless they move to another circle).

Interested alumnae can sign up for participation and recommend contacts to participate by contacting EmpowerHER’s national chair or a McDonough liaison or by filling out the interest form.
