Georgetown McDonough Undergraduate Program Ranks #14 in U.S. News Ranking, 3rd for International Business

U.S. News & World Report recently listed the Undergraduate Program at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business 14th overall and 3rd in the country for international business. The school was also ranked among the nation’s best in finance, entrepreneurship, accounting, and management. 

“Through our innovative curriculum, principled leadership, and whole-person programming, we continue to prepare our students to become responsible leaders in business,” said Patricia Grant, senior associate dean for the Undergraduate Program. “We are proud to have our global reputation for academic excellence and values-based education recognized by our peers.”

The Undergraduate Program continues to expand its extracurricular and cocurricular activities to provide new opportunities to leverage Georgetown’s global connections. Students can participate in McDonough’s signature Global Business Experience elective and Global Business Fellows program, where undergraduate business students consult for an organization abroad and then travel to the country to present their findings to executives. 

They also have the opportunity to participate in unique global case competitions with universities from across the globe, as well as the First Year Seminar Social Impact Consulting Project to address a real-world business challenge with a D.C.-based nonprofit organization.

The Undergraduate Program offers a variety of opportunities to nurture students’ personal growth through its wellness programming. Students are invited to weekly Wellness Wednesdays, which focus on academic, physical, spiritual, and emotional wellness; Caffeine with the Deans and Bagels with the Deans to connect with undergraduate advising deans; and Ad Astra retreats, which are off-campus, overnight experiences that guide students through reflection, learning exercises, and skill-building workshops. 

Situated in the global capital city of Washington, D.C., students gain access to leaders and organizations spanning business, policy, government, diplomacy, nonprofits, and startups. Students complete the Georgetown liberal arts core in addition to their business studies to emphasize an interdisciplinary approach to education, and they have access to a diverse academic community across Georgetown University with other top schools in foreign service, public policy, medicine, and the arts and sciences.

Students also have opportunities to complete academic research with professors and organizations and engage in unique co-curricular activities such as entrepreneurship pitch competitions and ongoing speaker events. Rooted in the Jesuit tradition, the program has built a culture where students are shown how to care for one another and the common good while pursuing academic excellence, inter-religious understanding, and inclusion for all.

The “America’s Best Colleges” business school ranking is based on a peer assessment score from a survey of deans at AACSB-accredited institutions.
