Georgetown McDonough Launches Master’s in Management Program

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business has announced the launch of a new Master of Science in Management (MiM) program for recent graduates who wish to supplement their bachelor’s degree with the business acumen and technology skills needed to succeed in a variety of industries.

The accelerated 11-month program provides a foundational business curriculum with a focus on the application and implication of technology and innovation — a defining feature of the program. Students will learn programming languages and study innovative global companies to understand the shifts that technology is bringing to today’s workforce. The first class will enter the program in July 2019 and will graduate in May 2020.

The program also will incorporate experiential learning into the curriculum, including the school’s signature global business experience, in which students complete a consulting project for an international organization and travel abroad to deliver client recommendations in person.

“We wanted to create a program that would fast-forward the business experiences of liberal arts and STEM majors and help them translate their skills into the world of work,” said Evelyn Williams, academic director of the MiM program and teaching professor of management.

The Georgetown MiM offers multiple opportunities for students to take charge of their careers. Students will have access to a suite of dedicated career services, including one day each week focused on career development. The program format, with classes clustered in the mornings, also allows students who are interested in off-campus experiences such as part-time internships to pursue those.
