MBA Programs Among Nation’s Best

U.S. News & World Report continues to rate the Georgetown McDonough MBA among the nation’s best, with the Full-time MBA ranking 21st and the MBA Evening Program ranking 18th. The school is also ranked 8th for international business.

“Our MBA program attracts the best students, engages them in a global curriculum rooted in Georgetown’s Jesuit tradition, and prepares them to excel in their careers after graduation,” said Prashant Malaviya, senior associate dean for MBA programs. “As we continue to build upon our successes, I’m confident the Georgetown MBA will continue to steepen its trajectory as a top program for both full-time and part-time students.”

For the Full-time MBA, U.S. News considers assessments by other business school deans and employers, as well as admissions and employment data for 2016. This year, Georgetown McDonough increased both its peer and recruiter assessment scores. The program’s increase in the percentage of students employed three months after graduation – from 85.9 percent to 90.3 percent – led to a 19-place advancement in that metric.

U.S. News gathers a different set of criteria for its part-time MBA rankings: assessments by other business school deans; average GMAT score, undergraduate GPA, and work experience; and the percentage of the entire MBA student body that is enrolled part time. Georgetown’s position in the ranking is a reflection of its strong recruitment of students and its dedication to offering the same curriculum and services to both full-time and part-time students. This year, the MBA Evening Program had the eighth highest average GMAT score in the country among part-time programs, as well as the 10th highest peer assessment score.
